Standing on the foot of Mehrangarh Fort, Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli (almost as old as Mehrangarh Fort) is an authentic heritage haveli, lovingly resorted, to serve as a comfortable oasis for present day travelers in their quest for the charms of Rajasthan. The Haveli built by Late Shri Ram Chandra Mathur, SP, Marwar State, is the largest of a treasure chest of such mansions with well preserved paintings. The present family carried out the restoration of their ancestral home taking care to retain the integrity of its original style.

This magnificent sandstone building with its imposing but delicately carved exterior and simple yet comfortable interiors is a genuine heritage edifice in a sylvan setting, stands as an oasis of hospitality, pageantry and Marwari charm. All efforts have been made to preserve the historical identity and integrity of the haveli despite its modernizing environs. It tastefully blends old charm with best of modern amenities. Present day facilities are harmonized so as not to disturb the antiquity of the royal abode. Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli exudes an aura distinctly its own - enhanced by its rich and varied collection of paintings, treasure troves etc of yesteryears, all so well preserved by the Mathur family, which still uses a part of the Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli as its home.

Family Background: This heritage property has been the Royal Residence of Late Shri Harish Chandra Mathur (uncle of present owner), Chief Secretary and then Home Minister of the former Marwar (Jodhpur) state, who later became leading and top notch member of Indian Parliament for more than two decades.

The grandfather of the present owner was Superintendent of Police of the Marwar State, also stayed here along with his sons Late Shri K.C. Satsangi (Former Chairman and Chief Engineer, Rajasthan Electricity Board) and Late Shri Prakash Chandra Mathur (leading civil lawyer and long time practitioner at Rajasthan High Court). Later it was occupied by present owner Professor Navin Mathur (son of Late Shri Prakash Chandra Mathur), an eminent management educationist and former Municipal Counselor of Jodhpur.

The recently restored kitchens offer a variety of menus ranging from a delectable palette of traditional Marwari cuisine to continental delicacies in four different restaurants which also offer a-la-carte options. Open-to-sky dining terraces with food in traditional thalis creates a magical experience. Amidst scrub rooftop the festive dinner venue at "Million Stars Rooftop" with the Mehrangarh Fort as its backdrop brings the rooftop alive. Tribal dances, barbeque meals and a fireworks display are organized to make the occasion a memorable one. Guests can enjoy dinner by candle light on the highest outer terrace, where Krishna Prakash Heritage Haveli offers the most distinctive view of the blue city of Jodhpur at night. Each of the 28 elegantly appointed rooms and suites are individually designed and furnished with genuine antiques and fixtures, old family portraits adorn the walls, the ambience and experience is further enhanced due to the presence of state-of-the-art in room amenities. Some of the rooms retain the original furniture as found when the Haveli was unlocked for restoration.

All rooms have attached bathrooms with bath tubs and western style fittings to cater to the needs of the elite visitors. The living quarters consist of twenty eight deluxe and standard rooms. The upper and older block serves as the family’s private area. The rooms are located around a covered walkway around a central square courtyard with space for a decorative water fountain. Its entrance is from a heavy wooden door crafted in those good old days with decorative brass plates.
