Haveli Resort
The Desert Haveli
Resort is ideally positioned in heart of Thar Desert, between two
big cities, Jodhpur and Jaisalmer. Haveli is the ideal location to
revisit Rajasthan's rich heritage, culture, customs, traditions and
hospitality. With rural surroundings, it is a heaven of peace and
tranquility. Sprawling lawn and manicured gardens and the bird song is
the only voice you hear. It offers the perfect gateway to meet your
holiday requirement.
Haveli Resort
proudly boasts the finest kitchens in traditional cuisine. The good food
is a hallmark of the Desert Haveli. You would experience the warm
hospitality and enjoy some truly delicious Indian and traditional
Rajasthani food cooked with farm fresh vegetables which are grown in our
own farms, devoid of any chemical, fertilizers, insecticides and
pesticides. Milk from our own cows and buffaloes are free from any
injectable growth hormones.
Haveli resort is a
good example of Rajput architecture with its pillars, impressive windows
and marvelous traditional sitting areas (baithak) breath an air of
aristocracy. The interiors of dinning hall are embellished with
beautiful traditional painting, of glass, stone, kaudies and colourful
mud walls.
Twenty beautifully
installed air conditioned cottages are the pride of Haveli Resort. Most
of the cottages have double rooms, a small area and all have attached
modern bathroom, which are spotlessly clean and tastefully adorned. Each
cottage is very welcoming and intimate. Hand-woven fabric, antique
furniture local pottery and rugs lend a special feel to the interior and
all are the result of a great deal of hard work, immense love, care and
superb taste.
Winter afternoons
are the best spent soaking in the warmth of the sun in the gardens and
open air courtyard where you can meet THAKUR D.S. Inda, Owner of the
property. The gracious hospitality, smile and personalized care that is
extended by the staff makes one's stay truly memorable and so special.
We also have a
stunning Swimming Pool, a massage parlour and a small gift shop where
books, pottery, antique items and rugs are available on sale for the
visitors.
The Desert Haveli
Resort is operational throughout the year.
Haveli Camp
Haveli's Camp is 7
km from the Desert Haveli's Resort. 15 luxury tents are comfortly
pitched on a big Sand Dunes in the lap of nature and total wilderness.
The views are spectacular. The daily chores of the sun, always a breath
taking ritual. The nights for stargazing where we promise, you will
discover a whole new universe. It is a place where you will hear the
silence.
Staying in tents was
always considered romantic and it is an experience that everyone should
enjoy at least once in a lifetime.
So we invite you in
traditional shikar style tents consist of elegant and luxurious twin
beds, antique furniture, a separate verandah with deck chairs in front
and a luxurious attached bathroom made out of local red stone tiles with
running hot and cold water. To preserve the camp atmosphere the bathroom
are also covered with cloth.
A colourful
traditional welcome with a garland and a tilak (vermillion mark). Let
yourself be fascinated by the beauty of Desert Haveli Camp.
Excellent
traditional Rajasthani meals are prepared under the direct supervision
of family members.
A gala dinner under
the shining and glittery stars is accompanied by camp fire, folk music,
folk dance, crackers, mouth watering cuisine. The stream of haunting
music is carried across the desert sand as the merry making continues
throughout the night. Meals are also served in the dinning hall where
every meal becomes an occasion to remember.
