A
mere 9 km from Chomu town, Samode is tucked around a low-lying outcrop
of the Aravali hills on one of the gateways to Shekhawati, the well
known visitor circuit of Rajasthan. The Samode community comprises of a
diversity of artisans who have helped the village retain its historic
identity. Samode has a Palace and a Bagh, both well featured in travel
guides. Constructed over 600 years ago, the Palace is known for its 'Sheesh
Mahal' - replete with mirrors. The Bagh is marked by its green setting.
There are temples, bawadis and havelis, each with a silent story while
the village walkway is surprisingly full with a diversity of crafts,
from lacquerware to carpets! Several local families offer attractive

Samode village is located amidst
low-lying hills at about 42 km north-west of Jaipur city. It is close to
Shekhawati, an important tourist circuit of Rajasthan. Bus and Taxi
services are readily available from Jaipur and Delhi. The nearest
railway station is Chomu (5 km) and the nearest is airport is Jaipur (53
km)
