Port Blair and Havelock.
MV Makruzz is
the first
privately owned luxury catamaran in
the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The state-of-the-art craft services
between Port Blair and Havelock. The craft is owned by MAK
LOGISTICS Pvt. Ltd. By
introducing Catamaran Makruzz MAK Logistics has shown the way the
tourism industry needs to be promoted in the Islands. The
Catamaran Passenger Day Ferry, named M.V.
Makruzz, was built in 2002 by Damen Shipyard, Singapore.
The vessel was dedicated to the tourism industry of the islands by
His Excellency the Lt. General (Retd.) Bhopinder Singh, PVSM, AVSM,
on 5th November 2009. The operations were started on 7th November
2009. Since its launch we have conducted events onboard,
Children’s’ Day being one of it. On the Occasion, our Company took
about 60 boys & girls from the local orphanages for a trip to
Havelock Island. The ship is also available for Charter.
This is a high-speed Catamaran Passenger Ferry. Catamaran is a
twin hull vessel and the advantage is that it offers ‘high speed’,
‘better stability’ and ‘more space’.
The vessel has 2 decks with passenger capacity of 280. It presents
three classes for its guests – 208 seats in Premium, 64 seats in
Deluxe and 8 seats in Royal. For the comfort of the passengers,
the vessel is fully air-conditioned by approx. 30 Ton rating
system. It can attain a maximum speed of 32 nautical miles, but
will be cruised at approximately 22 - 24 nautical mile.

All boat tickets are subject to availability,
ferry timings, Govt. ticket counter services as there is
limitation for people to be taken onboard in ferry and limited
people including locals to be transferred to Havelock in a day.
Duration of these ferry is subject to type of boat on the day
and takes 21/2 hours – 41/2 hours depending on direct cruising to
island or touching other islands on normal weather conditions
When using Govt. ferry last night stay in Port Blair becomes
mandatory, As Havelock to Port Blair ferry do not connect with
departing flight on the same day.
Non Resident Indians/Foreigners are given tickets only after
obtaining proper RAP (Restricted Area Permit) to the Islands at
the time of entry point at Habour/Airport—Immigration office and
the tickets can be purchased only after that hence advised to keep
a day safe in hand in case..
