Try Diving
Ever wondered what the big fuss
was all about - why did Island Vinnie set up shop in the Andamans, why
millions of people travel to all sorts of remote destinations in the
world to dive, why people brave deep shipwrecks, frozen lakes and strong
currents just to be underwater?
The half-day Discover Scuba Diving program is your ticket to checking
out the underwater world - no prior experience or special pre-requisites
needed.
In this program, one of our dive instructors goes over the basic theory
of diving with you in a short pre-dive briefing. Then, in shallow water,
you don your scuba gear and become familiar with how it works. When you
are ready, your instructor takes you for a dive. He or she will handle
all the equipment, etc - all you have to do is relax and take in the
amazing underwater world.

The Open Water course is the
entry-level certification course and the most popular among people
wanting to learn diving. There are 3 components to an Open Water course:
- Academic development: a combination of videos, books and instructor
briefings
- Confined water training: shallow water training where you learn the
essential scuba skills
- Open water training: 4-5 actual dives on various reefs (4 for PADI and
SSI, 5 for NAUI), where you apply what you have learned
Fun to Diving
Manta rays glide by on a dive, unpeturbed by your bubbles. A reef
shark swims by nonchalantly, but keeping an eye on you to make sure you
are not up to any michief. Pierre the napoleon and his three sons come
by to take a better look. Large, 4-5 meter sea fans form an avenue
through which you glide. A squadron of travellay dart among the reef
fish, looking for laggards while in the distance, tuna and barracuda
dart along like silver arrows in the blue. And, with the help of our
guides, there is even a chance of spotting the elusive dugong - one of
the few places in the world where this is possible
