The cuisine at Ahungalla is
supervised by our world class Chef who has won nine gold
medals at the Culinary Olympics and the Culinary World Cup.
The massive kitchen, complying with international standards in
food safety and hygiene, serves out a vast range of delicious
dishes which you could not fully sample even if you stayed at
the hotel for two weeks.

Restaurant : The main air
conditioned restaurant of the hotel, located on the ground
floor of the south wing, can seat 200 people at one time.
Non air conditioned seating is available for 50 persons.
It offers a spectacular view of the beach and ocean. The
Jute offers a comprehensive buffet with Eastern, Western
and international food. You can also enjoy a selection
from our wine list with your meals. The visionary interior
decoration of Geoffrey Bawa creates a unique ambience in
which to relax and enjoy your meal.
- Upper Room -
Fine Dining Restaurant : This is
the fine dining experience par excellence of Ahungalla.
It is open from 7pm to 10pm and seats 35 people. You can
hear the soft breeze and the gentle lap of waves on the
shore, and see the glint of starlight reflected off the
mysterious waters. Open in the evenings the Upper Room is
a softly lit and cosy atmosphere to enjoy a romantic
dinner. Enjoy exclusive beverages or a selection from our
comprehensive wine list with your dinner.

Coffee Shop : The Mustard Coffee
Shop located next to the main lounge and swimming pool, is
open 24 hours a day. You can enjoy food from the A La
Carte menu in the fresh air. This restaurant also offers
our comprehensive wine list.
- Bar :
The Heritance Ahungalla has five bars where
you can relax and enjoy a drink. The Apollo, which can seat
35 people, is open from 10am to 11pm and offers local and
international brands, as well as a coffee and cigar menu.
The other bars are all open from 10am to midnight. The Pool
Bar, which can seat 100 people, and the Wall Bar, which can
seat 50 people, are open air bars. The Bacchus, which can
seat 45 people, the Orpheus, which can seat 40 people, and
the Apollo, are air conditioned. The Orpheus is located in
our night club.
Accommodation
The accommodation at
Heritance Ahungalla embodies the architectural genius of
Geoffrey Bawa. Each room is unique. As every room is set at a
different angle to its neighbours, even the view from each
room is unique. Once you enter your room, feel as if you are
alone on the beach, cocooned in five-star luxury.
The Heritance Ahungalla has
154 rooms, decorated in contemporary shades of black, beige
and gold with modern lines, and elegant contours. You have a
choice of bathrooms fitted with luxurious rain showers,
bathtubs or Jacuzzis. Each bathroom is equipped with a hair
dryer and telephone, and tastefully supplied with a full range
of custom made Heritance Ahungalla toiletries. The rooms are
also fully equipped with energy efficient air conditioning,
TVs with satellite and local channels, a comprehensive mini
bar and coffee and tea making equipment. The room is supplied
with coffee, tea and a gift basket of fruit, biscuits,
chocolates, mint and cashew nuts on a daily basis.
In providing all this luxury,
we haven't forgotten the security of your valuables - each
room comes equipped with a battery operated digital safe which
you can program and lock with your own code. Our rooms are
wheel chair accessible. We provide 24-hour room, laundry press
