Location
Talalla Retreat is located on
the southern tip of Sri Lanka between Matara and Tangalla.
The distance from Colombo is
about 180km.

In addition to usual hotel
facilities we also have a sparkling pool, a spa and beauty
treatment space and we are home to one of Asia's largest yoga
spaces.
Surfing
Sri Lanka is considered to be
one of the most reliable surf destinations in the Indian Ocean
offering high quality and consistent waves. Sri Lanka is a
year round surf destination - according to the time of year
both the east and west sides of the island catch a decent
swell, but the best time is October to April.
The conditions cater to all
standards of surfers and vary from beginner gentle beach
breaks right up to kamikaze reef spots.
Talalla Retreat is located
right in the middle of all of Sri Lanka's finest surf spots.
Neutral Wind is a few minutes away, this is our local beach
break catering for all range of surfers. It is an immaculate
palm lined beach where most of the time you will find yourself
surfing alone. Talalla Retreat is the perfect location to base
yourself for your Sri Lankan surf trip.
Surf Yoga Camps and Retreats
Two of our favourite passions are surfing and yoga so we love
to cater for groups who wish to come to engage in either or
both of these pursuits.
Restaurant
Quality international cuisine
in the south of Sri Lanka can be hard to find.
Here at Talalla Retreat we
are blessed with the presence of Laurie Rose. Laurie has owned
and run high quality restaurants in Australia for over 25
years.
So in addition to the
delicious local food prepared by our chefs Laurie has trained
his kitchen to produce a variety of international dishes.
What makes our restaurant
truly special is that most of the produce is grown on the
property or locally and we buy our fish every morning from the
fishermen on the beach.
Accommodation
We offer eight elegantly
decorated two-storey villas set in landscaped gardens. Each
villa has four spacious bedrooms, making 16 twins and 16
doubles.
All rooms have mosquito nets, are bright and airy and each has
its own private balcony or veranda. There is no need for air
conditioning in our rooms as they are all cooled by natural
sea breezes and ceiling fans.
Every room has its own large open-sky marble bathroom.
All rooms are immaculately serviced everyday and normal
amenities such as laundry and ironing are available.
As our aim is for you to
leave us with a feeling of peace and tranquility there are no
in-room tv or entertainment centres provided. And to amaze
your senses Sri Lanka offers you her natural beauty of
beaches, jungles and teeming wildlife. Surely this has to be
better than CNN!
