Located in the salubrious environs of Wellington, Coonoor, at 6500ft.
above MSL. the property is surrounded by Tea Garden's and stretches of
Reserve Forest which are within strolling distance
Though it is just 4 km. from
Memorial-Wellington on the Kotagiri Road, near the famous Beulah Farm,
the drive takes you through thick forests and tea gardens. The property
can be approached from Coonoor Sim’s Park side also. A drive along the
Kotagiri highway passes through Yeddapalli and Elithorai villages. A
turn at Elithrai Village towards Beulah Farm / Bandomai Village goes
right past the property.
The Home Stay has 2 Independent
Cottages with private lawns, 1 Cottage with two bedrooms, and 2 Deluxe
Rooms which could be referred to as “ A Room with A View”. Facing the
property at middle distance is the Raliah Height Mountain and the Raliah
Reserve Forest. The reserve forest is famous for Raliah Dam,
constructed by the British in the early 1900’s. The lake is surrounded
by a thick forest which is teeming with wild life. The Raliah Dam is a
pleasant trek from the Home Stay and an ideal location for a picnic
lunch
Accommodation The property is
4.5 km away from the Wellington Gymkana Club Golf Course, Golfing guest
could use the facilities - at a cost. The property is so designed that
all rooms open out to green lawns. It has a Reception - “ Stockings’ , a
Dining Room - “Pasture”, 2 Cottages - “Horns“ & “Hoofs”, a two bedroom
cottage "Raliah Cottage"and 2 Delux Rooms- "Den 1 & Den 2" A very
pleasant Gazebo offers guests the option of leisure and indoor games. A
bonfire is lit next to the Gazebo every evening. The reception
‘Stockings’ offers guest's a library of Reading material and DVDs,
personally selected by Ruksana Rai. It also has a Binocular and
telescope to spot Bisons, which are frequently seen on the slopes of
Raliah Heights
The Home Stay is a Self Help model. Tea
and Coffee arrangement is available in each dwelling. The establishment
offers the 'Modified American Plan' i.e. Breakfast and Dinner- which is
served on the platter as the “Dish of the Day” concept. Poultry or Fish
are served as part of the non- veg continental dishes. This is
accompanied with hot soups and pudding of the day. We do not have room
service facilities
