Built in 1892, this stunning historic property has operated as a
boutique hotel since 2006. Since its inception, the Shanghai Mansion
has assured guests of a truly unique and wonderful experience
through its design, superb "Feel at Home" service and central

Nestled amongst the busiest streets of Bangkok, Shanghai Mansion

Incorporating the style and elegance of 1930’s Shanghai, we have
created a magical scene from a home of nobility. Not a single detail
is missing, from our relaxing plush red leather sofas in our lobby,
to our old fashioned (and working) gramophone in our restaurant,
Chinese checkers or Chinese phrase books in our Library or even just
the crisp fresh apples placed randomly within our guests reach,
there is always a touch of comfort and surprising sense of
uniqueness in every corner.
All of our guests are invited to relax by our water garden. Visible
from every floor, it brings the outdoors indoors. Here you can
listen to softly flowing water and watch thousands of fish play
among the natural habitat created with beauty in mind. Some
afternoons you may be whisked away by the enchanting music of a
guzheng (a traditional Chinese stringed instrument) being delicately
played by the waterside.
Following the Elegance in design and decor is our Elegance in
service. We have raised the bar to a new high and make it available
to you in every corner. For example, our Afternoon Tea served daily
from 2pm to 5pm, our Room service menu, offering the standards but
adding the delights of Chinatown, such as Wanton soup or Dim Sum,
and our unique a la carte breakfast served daily from 6.30 -
10.30am, where you can enjoy your pancakes, full English or even
Asian delights cooked freshly to order with a pot of freshly brewed
tea or French pressed coffee. All of these can be enjoyed in the
restaurant, in our beautiful new lobby lounge, our 3rd floor
terrace, in your room, or even by our water garden.
Our award winning jazz bar, "Cotton", showcases some of Thailand’s
best musicians and vocalists, and on occasion International Jazz and
Blues musicians. We are also proud to invite you to enjoy the best
cocktails, the best wine and the tastiest food in town.
