located in Ramnagar. Ramnagar lies ensconced by mountains, jungles and
the beautiful river Kosi at the foot of the Himalayas adjacent to the
world famous Corbett National Park and Tiger reservoir, near Nainital
hill station in Uttarakhand state in India.

About Tarangi
River Kosi gushes along the
white pebbles and rocks ceaselessly on one side, while the famous
Corbett National Park stands on the other side. The sylvan surroundings
in 15 acres are a rare visual treat to your eyes and heart. Meandering
meadows, towering mountains, majestic cottages, hygienic and mouth
watering international cuisines, await your arrival. Now it is your
choice to relax at the cradle of Himalayas!
Mountain ranges interspersed with thick
virgin forests and Kosi River swirling with crystal clear waters present
a magnificent backdrop. A delightful experience awaits you at the
Tarangi back yard where peacocks leisurely walk and dance, deer graze,
elephants march, and monkeys jump in their natural habitat. An awe
inspiring silence prevails here only to be broken by the chirping of
different birds and the lullaby of flowing river waters. The Sun, the
Moon, the mountains, the river, the swimming pool adjacent to the river,
the thick Jungles, the roaming animals, the flock of Birds, the expanse
of greenery - all brought at your doorstep.

Facilities
The resplendent site has been carefully designed to
synchronize with nature in every aspect. You have winding pathways
nestled in exotic grass and well maintained gardens. You can enjoy
your walking or jogging along the mountains and river views. Well laid
pathways connect you to all areas like the office, swimming pool, yoga
and meditation hall, dining hall, spa rooms and herb gardens. The
entire stretch at our back yard has been converted into a park
overlooking the gushing Kosi River and the virgin forests. Colorful
flowers and varieties of plants and trees adorn the entire stretch
with benches for relaxing and bird/animal watching. Watch the Sun rise
and Moon rise and the silhouettes of the mountain ranges and their
reflections in the sparkling waters comfortably from this park. The
enchanting scenery, the gentle winds touching the river, the rustling
of leaves, and the melodious tweeting of the birds enliven the whole
atmosphere at tarangi.
Atrium -
A huge Atrium is ready for conducting festivals,
functions and cultural events. The circular ground is full of lush
green landscape bordered with colorful foliage.
Amphitheatre -
You can enjoy concerts, fold dances while relaxing at
our Amphitheatre with an elevated panoramic view. This salubrious
atmosphere here is just a paradise on earth.
Yoga Hall & Meditation Hall
-
Both the Yoga hall and the Meditation hall are located
facing the river Kosi and the mountains for a perfect set up. One can
view the Sun and the mountains and feel the serenity while doing the
yoga exercises. The river flows just near by and the effect is
overwhelming and unparalleled. This terrific backdrop transports you
to the ancient Vedic period. Our big yoga hall can accommodate around
40 guests at a time. It can be converted to a conference hall on
demand with readily available furniture and public address systems.
Meditation hall is located
on the upstairs of the yoga hall and it is still more divine in
appearance. You and just the natural elements are there as witness
when you practise meditation here. It will be an unforgettable
experience to meditate here.
Swimming Pool -
An open to the sky swimming pool at the river bank! It
is a rare sight. Both the Sun rise and Sun set can be witnessed from
this swimming pool. One can enjoy watching the gleaming river, flowing
at a stone’s throw away, while swimming in the pool. The swimming pool
with all amenities like reclining chairs, umbrellas, is adjacent to
the Yoga Hall and very near to the Kosi River. Azure blue waters in
the swimming pool reflect the opposite mountains in undulating
ripples.
Dining Hall -
Meticulously decorated dining tables with mouth
watering cuisines await your arrival. Excellent, exotic menus are
prepared under experienced chef in the hygienic kitchen adjacent to
the dining hall. We serve delicious variety of food keeping in mind
about the yoga exercises. Rich, sumptuous food is served during the
break fast, lunch and dinner times. Fresh fruits and juices, different
varieties of Pacific, South European, and Oriental delicacies are
served by smart attendants. Candle light dinners and buffets are
arranged for a change from the routine. You can watch the natural
sceneries from your dining table. Polite, courteous staffs are engaged
to serve you with a smile.
Yoga
Yoga is not a religion but a way of living with good
health and peace of mind. Yoga means union in Sanskrit. Yoga is a proven
technique to merge the individual self with the Cosmic Conscience or the
Divine. Physical and mental exercises in yoga help you to achieve this
state of bliss called enlightenment or self transcendence. Two Yoga
classes and one sound meditation class are conducted daily apart from
the private yoga classes.
Yoga postures make the spine supple and healthy. They
help in improved flow of blood to all our organs, glands and tissues.
These exercises called asanas help to tone up, strengthen and align
your body. Yoga integrates the mind, body and the spirit.
Mental Toning up -
Exercises using breathing techniques called pranayama
and meditation called Dhyana help to calm down and discipline the
restless mind.
Yoga relies upon the breath
as the most important aspect of health. Breath is the life force
called prana and the science of breathing is called pranayama.
Patanjali’s yoga comprises eight stages where the first five are
external while the last three are internal.
Group Chanting -
The aura of each human expands during chanting of
mantras. Group chanting creates powerful positive vibrations which are
beneficial to the society and the environment. The atmosphere gets
surcharged with divine energy at that time. Interested guest are
welcome to join group chanting conducted daily.
Recreation -
Participants are encouraged to go in for fun time
activities to display their skills and interests. You can join in
gardening work at our herb gardens and fields or attend cookery
classes and try your hand in preparing a lip smacking recipe! You can
also browse our well stocked library for a change.
Spa
Devoted to enhance overall well being through variety of
services that improves the renewal of mind, body and the spirit.
It is a simple procedure which makes you feel relaxed
and renewed with energy; soothes you thoroughly; leaves you with a
pleasant feeling and has a long lasting effect; tones up your blood
circulation; gives good relief to joint pains and strained muscles;
repairs damaged body tissues; stimulates and brings back nostalgic
memories; offers a calming effect; induces sleep.
Balinese Massage -
It is an ancient therapy like Ayurveda employing
techniques like skin rolling, kneading, stroking, gentle stretching,
acupressure, aromatherapy all which help in relieving stress to a
great extent. It stimulates the blood circulation and provides a
feeling of over all wellness and complete relaxation. As a result your
body and mind are attuned to a perfect balance with serenity. Moreover
the usage of aromatherapy oils has a powerful mind boggling effect on
you.
Thai Massage -
It is believed Thai massage is based on Ayurveda and
Yoga of India. It is recommended for pain relief for musculo-skeletal,
head ache arising of tension, back pain, low back pain and spastic
diplegia. Your performance is enhanced with increased alertness, after
taking up this massage. Combined with aroma therapy it can stimulate
your immune system. It is also called Thai Yoga massage, Thai body
work or Thai ancient massage.
Ayurveda Massage -
Four Vedas (Rig, Yajur, Sama and Atharva) are the
pillars of Sanathana Dharma of Indian religious system since time
immemorial. Each Veda tells us how to conduct ourselves on each
circumstance. Even after thousands of years these Vedas have been
transferred through ages by sages and disciples just by word of mouth
with out slight deviation in pronunciation. References to diseases,
herbs and herbal cures are available in all Vedas especially in Rig
Veda. The Atharva Veda tells the significance and glory of many herbs
through its hymns. Many plants were worshipped. There are hymns or
Mantras chanted for curing diseases. Ayurveda has been explained in
depth in Charaka Samhita and Susruta Samhita, the oldest Sanskrit
medical manuals. A student can grasp Ayurveda, its essence relating to
the herbs and their quality and nature, diseases and their nature,
treatment and its principles only when 25 principles are contemplated
upon. Sankhya system facilitates the study of Ayurveda.
Disease Management system
in Ayurveda has two aspects called Shamana and Shodhana. Shamana
consists of methods to mitigate the disease and its symptoms while
Shodana aims at the elimination of the cause of the disease.
Ayurvedic massage is a form of treatment
for various age related and other common disorders. Benefits are like
pain relief, improved circulation, stress relief, good sleep, more
flexibility in muscles, agility end mental balance. It will also relax
stiffness and soothe pain.
In Ayurvedic massage – Massage, Yoga,
Meditation and herbal remedies are used. Therapists apply heated
herbal oils on the body depending upon ailment (dosha). Kneading,
rubbing and squeezing methods are used and sometimes therapists use
their feet in a specialized way. Variety of blended exotic oils like
mustard, olive, almond, fractionated coconut oil, grapeseed is applied
with different concoctions, temperatures and temperatures.
Panchkarma Therapy -
It is not just an oil massage as it is normally
misunderstood. Panchakarma is a holistic Ayurvedic rejuvenation
therapy. It is a five fold therapy aimed at eradicating the basic
cause of disease and concludes with the mitigation of the disease and
its symptoms. The five actions are called Nasya, Vamana, Virechana,
Nirodha Vasti and Sneha Vasti. In other words, it includes a brief
dietary prescription, massage, herbs, purgatives, sweat baths,
medicated enemas and nasal cleaning. It eliminates disease causing
toxins and also revitalizes the body tissues.
Aromatherapy -
This wonderful therapy stimulates our immune system.
Sweet almond oil, lavender oil, cypress oil, sweet marjoram oils are
used here. It increases peripheral blood lymphocytes. This therapy
induces good sleep. It has a calming effect and your nostalgic
memories are aroused.
Naturopathy -
Our body is self healing. Here the holistic treatment
depends upon natural elements like sunlight, water and air along with
regulated vegetarian diet, massage, yoga and recommended therapies.
Mud bath and body scrub are available.
Sauna Bath - Modern
electric Sauna & steam bath is available with two rooms. Sauna has
been found to increase the hormone testosterone in men. Regular saunas
have been found to improve micro circulation and cardio vascular
conditions and reduce hypertension. They bring down the incidence of
common cold, increase oxygen intake, and reduce systolic BP etc.
Activities
You are woken up by the chirping and sweet tunes of
the birds and swish of winds from the mountains. You can go for a brisk
walk or jogging and the fresh air around makes you energetic and
stronger. You can wash yourself and get ready for the first yoga class
which runs for an hour from 7.30 AM to 8.30 AM. A light but variety of
nutritious break fast awaits you in the dining hall at 8.30 AM.
You can join the group chanting which is conducted from 10 AM to 11
AM. Then you have a free time for pursuing your swimming or free time
activities or can go for a massage.
1 PM to 2 PM is the time for lunch. Mingle with the participants to
know each other and be pampered like a king. We serve you rich,
sumptuous international delicacies for lunch. Menu is changed
periodically for variety.
Take rest or indulge in extra curricular activities and come to the
yoga classes by 4 PM which runs for an hour.
After 5PM, you can go for Massage, Swimming, Bird Watching on the
banks of Kosi, or walking.
Dinner is served between 8 to 9 PM. Candle lights, glimmering waters,
light music enliven the atmosphere.
And you retire for good night’s sleep there after.

Rare Drift wood collection is also available at our
office. They are displayed in around our office.
Community Service -
In tune with the village adoption scheme we also show
our concern by lending our support to the rural folk. We do engage in
charity work. Interested guests can join us in this noble cause. We
will arrange for a visit to the villages nearby.
Other Service -
We can arrange for River side Massage on the banks of
river Kosi. We can also arrange for an extended vacation with a Safari
at the Corbett National Park nearby. You can stay and watch variety of
animals, tiger on prowl and birds in air at close vicinity.
If you are interested in
River Rafting, Rock Climbing, and trekking that too can be organized.
We can arrange for sight seeing tours to important places in
Uttarakhand or for Shopping or local sight seeing trips.

We can arrange airport transfers, car hire, and private
drivers for the duration of your stay, onward air or train travel.

Jim Corbett National Park -
This famous park is in Ramnagar and is a major tourist
attraction. Established in 1936, it is one of the first and oldest
National Parks in India. With an area of 1288 square km containing
rich fauna and flora, it has four rivers running inside. This is a
Tiger Reserve. Project Tiger was launched here in 1973. Tigers,
Elephants, fishing cat, leopard, mongoose, porcupine, wild boar,
crocodiles, gharial, antelope, langur and rhesus monkeys live here
along with 110 tree species, 50 mammal species, 580 bird varieties, 25
reptile species. Eco tourism is encouraged.
Accommodation
It is recommended to reserve
well in advance to get the desired accommodation.
There are 21 air conditioned cottages in three types– River View,
Mountain View and Garden - are available to suit your taste and needs.
Maximum accommodation is for 40 persons at a time.

Cottage
Cottages are grouped in three
types namely, River View, Mountain View and Garden. We provide you with
well appointed, air conditioned rooms with thick foliage around. All
décor and furniture in each room have been crafted with eco friendly
natural wood crafted by local carpenters. In order to encourage rural
employment, local villagers and artisans have been employed. You will
find plenty of natural light and air in and around the cottages.
Aesthetically designed cottages are well lit inside and outside during
nights. Each cottage provides you privacy and luxury in perfect
ambience. Modern bath fittings, hot and cold shower, luxurious
mattresses, elegant furniture and telephone connection are available in
all rooms. Our dedicated staffs maintain the cottages immaculately
clean.
You can enjoy the expanse of the sky and
mountains and the flowing river Kosi from the ‘riverside cottages’. You
can watch the peacocks and deer on the other side of the river bank. You
can leisurely watch the Sun rise and Moon rise from your bedroom. You
can hear the noise of the mountain winds, copious river waters and the
intermittent calls of the birds all the time. No other noise pollution
will disturb you.
