RAIL:
Nearest railhead is Vapi (12 km/7 mile) on the Western Railway on
Bombay-Baroda-New Delhi line where most of the Mail and Express trains stop. Most of the
Express and Passenger trains from Mumbai Central and Bandra Terminus to Surat. Baroda,
Ahmedabad and Delhi (Western Railwasy) stop at Vapi, where the traveller to Daman has to
alight. He may also alight at Valsad which is just 45 Kms/29 mile from Daman by road.
ROAD:
Bombay-Ahmedabad National Highway No. 8 connects Daman via Vapi
by road. It is 190 km/121 mile away from Bombay, 360 km/230 mile from Ahmedabad and
768 km/490 mile from Diu.
Daman is one of the easiest tourist-spot to reach. Just 193 Km from the Megapolis, Mumbai
by the National Highway No. 8. Buses from Mumbai to Ahmedabad and Saurashtra pass through
Vapi. Number of Gujarat State Transport buses are operating daily from Vapi to Daman.
Those who come to Daman from Mumbai by the National Highway will branch off at Karambeli
village, between Bhilad and Vapi.Taxicabs
