EXPLORE -
Explore
Hide Out, a greenscape of fruit trees, fields and forest. Down to earth,
learn about organic fertilizers and eco friendly pesticides, explore
drip and open canal irrigation systems, marvel at a specially designed
septic tank thats a zero maintenance vermicompost pit. Plough the field
with bullock (or ride the power trailer) by dawn, build a camp fire at
dusk.
EDUCATE - Head for the bazaar,
stroll through the weekly Wednesday village market. Stop by the
blacksmith,
the
potter, the investigate the rice mill. the oil press. Check out the
poultry, goat or dairy farm....even an emu farm. Get creative: help bake
a brick, make a broom, weave bamboo baskets and flower garlands, work
with earth, learning to mud plaster.
ENJOY - Short trips away, Jawahar,
set in a deep rift valley, wit stunning view and a
tribal
palace nestled in cashew orchards (30km). Mahalaxmi Temple, the tribal
kul daivat, seat of the Warli family deity, site of several festivals
and taarpa dance performaces (40kms) Dahanu, quiet seaside town, with an
Irani heritage and an uncluttered beach (55km).
EAT - Eat clean and lean,
lip-smacking
fresh, flavourful, wholesome. Savour the mellow taste of food gently
spiced, slow cooked over a wood fire, served in hand thrown,
hand-painted pots. Awaken to new thoughts on nutrition and
health.....return rejuvenated with changed attitudes to health and
wellness. Vegetarians only, of course.
