The
history of The Waxpol Hotels & Resorts, originates with The Sunderban
Tiger Camp. An Oasis, in the middle of the Largest continous Mangrove
Forest, the Sunderban National Park, which is a world heritage site and
biosphere reserve. The standards of service, dining and facilities of
this Sunderban landmark serve as a benchmark for all Waxpol hotels and
resorts in India.
The
Riverwood Retreat is a luxury eco friendly jungle resort, which will
cater to the upscale market. It is also designed to cater to the busy
traveller to rejuvenate themselves from their hectic working lifestyle.
The 25 acre property is located opposite the main Gorumara Forest and
its USP being the location as well as the naturally constructed
migratory bird area, which will make it the only resort of its kind in
North Bengal to draw not only wildlife lovers, but recreational and
adventure tourists as well. The resort will portray itself as a base to
visit other tourist destinations such as Buxa, Jaldapara, Samsing,
Darjeeling, Gangtok, Phuntsholing, etc. The property currently employs
20 personnel’s and indirectly employs 55 personnel’s as it is still in
the final stage of completion. It is due to open on 1st April 2008.
